Rick Ross was reportedly attacked Sunday night (June 30) after his performance at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, B.C. Video footage shows Ross being sucker-punched, sparking a brawl as Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” played over the venue speakers.
TMZ reports that Ross finished his set around 10:30 p.m. and was leaving the main stage when the attack occurred. The situation quickly escalated, with one of Ross’s associates appearing to be knocked unconscious.
Despite the altercation, Ross told TMZ on Monday morning that no one with him was seriously injured and expressed his eagerness to return to Vancouver. He also posted a photo on Instagram Stories laughing in front of a private jet, captioned, “Vancouver, it was fun. Until next time.”
50 Cent took to Instagram to mock Ross, posting a clip and captioning it, “LMAO THE GREAT ESCAPE! MEEKA CALL THE CHASERS, THEY ARE CHASING ME. LOL.” Meanwhile, Drake, who was not involved in the incident, liked an Instagram post recapping the altercation.
The feud between Ross and Drake has been ongoing, with diss tracks exchanged earlier this year. Drake’s “Push Ups” took shots at Ross, who responded with “Champagne Moments.”
Billboard has reached out to Rick Ross’s representatives, the Ignite Music Festival, and the Vancouver Police Department for comments.
