NBA YoungBoy, also known as Kentrell Gaulden, has been ordered into federal custody by a judge in Baton Rouge following his arrest on multiple charges in Utah related to a prescription drug ring.
Federal prosecutors requested a bond revocation hearing for Gaulden, who was on house arrest in Utah awaiting trial for gun charges in Baton Rouge. Chief Judge Shelly Dick signed the request, instructing federal agents to take Gaulden into custody pending a bond revocation hearing.
The arrest in Utah stemmed from allegations that Gaulden and others were involved in obtaining prescription drugs through fraudulent means, including phony prescriptions for substances like promethazine with codeine. Gaulden faces 63 state charges in relation to these activities.
Additionally, Gaulden faces serious charges in Utah, including possession of a dangerous weapon and other drug-related offenses.
This arrest adds to Gaulden’s legal troubles, as he was previously indicted in 2021 for gun possession during a music video shoot in 2020. Despite legal proceedings, Gaulden continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry, collaborating with artists like Migos and Juice Wrld.
Gaulden’s legal team has not yet commented on the recent developments.
