Rapper Kodak Black, also known as Bill Kapri, was arrested early Thursday morning in Broward County, Florida, on charges of possession of cocaine, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, probation violation, and improper stopping/standing/parking of a vehicle.
A Plantation Police officer on patrol around 2:07 a.m. discovered a black Bentley SUV parked on the roadway near the 600 block of NW 47th Terrace with its tail lights on. The vehicle obstructed northbound traffic, prompting the officer to investigate. The officer found Kodak Black asleep in the driver’s seat with the window halfway down and a smell of burnt weed emanating from the car.
A backup officer arrived, and upon opening the driver’s side door to turn off the car, they discovered a Styrofoam cup in the door handle with an alcohol smell. Cannabis wrapping paper and suspected cannabis residue were also observed in the exposed center console. Kodak was asked to exit the vehicle and, during the interaction, attempted to discard a white powder, which was later confirmed to be cocaine.
Further searches revealed a clear plastic baggie with cocaine in Kodak’s left pocket. He was charged, received a traffic citation, and was transported to jail. His car, noted with damage possibly related to a crash, was towed from the scene.
This arrest adds to Kodak Black’s legal troubles, with a history of drug-related charges, including an arrest in Broward County last year for possession of oxycodone.
