Nollywood actor Yusuf Olorungbebe has passed away after battling a chronic illness. The Yoruba actor’s death was confirmed on Wednesday morning by his colleagues in the film industry.
Popular actress Foluke Daramola announced the news on her Instagram page, writing, “We lost Yusuf Olorungbebe. We submit to God’s will.”
Another actor, Oladimeji Peter, paid tribute to Olorungbebe on Facebook, recalling how the late actor had a significant impact on his career. “It is sad to hear you are gone,” Peter wrote. “As an actor, you gave me courage. You were the first director to invite me to a movie location, pay me, and take care of my feeding and accommodation. Through you, I met many people and learned so much. Goodnight, Boss man.”
Olorungbebe had been on life support in the days leading up to his passing. His death has left a void in the Yoruba movie industry, where he was known for his contributions and mentorship.
