Netflix has secured the rights to rapper 50 Cent’s documentary series delving into the sexual assault allegations against his former associate, Diddy. The deal was struck following intense competition among various networks and streaming platforms. The series, produced under 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film and Television Studios, aims to shed light on allegations made by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and several other women.
The purchase by Netflix marks a significant development after months of speculation about the series’ authenticity, with 50 Cent himself teasing its release. While details such as the series director remain undisclosed, 50 Cent expressed his satisfaction with the deal on Instagram, taking a playful jab at TMZ over their post picture.
The announcement comes amidst ongoing legal troubles for Diddy, including a recent lawsuit from Crystal McKinney alleging sexual assault over two decades ago. McKinney claims Diddy drugged and assaulted her at a 2003 event, leading to severe repercussions in her life. Diddy has not yet responded to these allegations.
The documentary’s proceeds are earmarked for supporting victims of sexual assault and rape, a commitment 50 Cent made public last year. However, specific financial details of the Netflix deal and the series’ release date are yet to be disclosed.
