NBA YoungBoy Set to Plead Guilty to Federal Gun Charge as Legal Troubles Mount

Rapper NBA YoungBoy, also known as Kentrell Gaulden, will plead guilty to a federal gun charge stemming from a 2020 incident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This plea comes after more than two years under house arrest while awaiting trial.

YoungBoy was charged in 2021 with possession of firearms as a convicted felon after law enforcement found him with two guns during a video shoot. His trial was delayed earlier this year as the case awaited a Supreme Court ruling that could have influenced the outcome. It remains unclear whether the guilty plea is part of a deal with prosecutors or if it will result in a more lenient sentence.

In addition to the federal gun charge, YoungBoy faces nearly 50 state charges in Utah, where he was arrested in April for allegedly orchestrating a prescription drug fraud scheme while under house arrest. These charges include identity fraud, possession of a dangerous weapon, and obtaining a prescription under false pretenses.

YoungBoy was released on bond in May for the Utah charges, but a trial date has yet to be scheduled. As his legal battles continue, the rapper’s career remains in limbo, with his ability to record and perform severely restricted.
