The 75-year-old mother of renowned Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara has been kidnapped in Katsina State. Hauwa’u Adamu was taken from her home in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government Area, early Friday morning.
According to Katsina State Police Command spokesperson ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the kidnappers invaded the residence around 1:30 a.m., abducting the elderly woman without firing any shots. Despite the prompt response from local police, the kidnappers managed to escape with the victim.
“Today, June 28, at about 1:30 a.m., information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, aged 75, in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government, and kidnapped her.
“Upon receipt of the report, promptly, the DPO Danja led a team of operatives to the scene with a view to arresting the culprits and unhurt rescue of the victim,” he said.
Two suspects have been arrested for questioning as the investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
