Linkin Park’s return to the music scene has been met with a mix of anticipation and controversy. The band recently announced their first tour and album since the passing of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. However, the excitement surrounding their “From Zero” tour has been tempered by significant lineup changes and public scrutiny.
Guitarist Brad Delson, a founding member of the band, revealed that he will not participate in the upcoming tour. While stepping back from live performances, Delson will continue to collaborate with the band behind the scenes, contributing to new music and creative projects. He introduced Alex Feder as his live performance replacement, praising him as a skilled musician and close friend.
The band’s drummer, Rob Bourdon, has also decided to part ways with the band, seeking distance from his long-time role in Linkin Park. These departures have left fans concerned, though the band assures that their creative spirit remains strong.
Adding to the complexity of the band’s comeback, new vocalist Emily Armstrong has faced backlash due to her past association with convicted rapist Danny Masterson and the Church of Scientology. Armstrong addressed the criticism in a statement, expressing regret for her previous support of Masterson and clarifying that she does not condone abuse or violence. She emphasized her empathy for the victims and her commitment to moving forward.
Despite the challenges, Linkin Park is moving forward with their “From Zero” tour, which includes six shows across the globe. The tour kicks off on September 11 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with additional stops in New York, Germany, the UK, South Korea, and Colombia.
Tickets for the tour are now available on the official Linkin Park website, as fans eagerly await the band’s return to the stage.
