Pop star Justin Bieber performed at billionaire heir Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding ceremony in Mumbai, earning a reported $10 million for his appearance. Bieber, 30, entertained the guests with over a dozen hits, including “Baby,” “Love Yourself,” and “Peaches,” during the lively sangeet ceremony on Friday.
Bieber shared photos and videos from the event on Instagram, including backstage shots with Ambani, 29, and his fiancée, Radhika Merchant, 29. The singer, dressed in a white tank top, black pants, and a backward baseball cap, posed with the couple and their family. During his performance, Bieber interacted with the audience, even handing the microphone to front-row guest Orhan Awatramani, who sang along to “Where Are Ü Now.”
Bieber’s brief trip to India also included a limousine ride to the venue and time spent in his hotel suite. After the performance, he returned to the U.S. to reunite with his pregnant wife, Hailey Bieber.
Anant Ambani is the son of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries and the richest person in Asia with a net worth of $123.4 billion. The family has been preparing for the wedding on July 12 for months, with previous celebrations featuring performances by Rihanna, Katy Perry, Pitbull, and David Guetta.
The pre-wedding festivities, which included an audience of enthusiastic fans, have been described as India’s “wedding of the year.”
