Jane’s Addiction canceled their upcoming show in Bridgeport after a heated onstage altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance in Boston. The incident occurred while the band was performing “Ocean Size,” when Farrell, visibly frustrated, shoved Navarro and shouted at him before throwing a punch. Band members and crew quickly intervened, but the show was cut short.
Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, later explained that the altercation stemmed from Farrell’s growing frustration over sound issues, which he felt drowned out his vocals. According to Etty, Farrell’s mounting tension, aggravated by complaints from the front row, led him to lash out at Navarro. She also accused bassist Eric Avery of escalating the situation by allegedly punching Farrell, though this claim wasn’t clearly visible in fan videos.
Etty described her husband’s emotional breakdown following the fight, stating that he was inconsolable afterward. The band apologized to fans via social media and confirmed refunds for the canceled show. As of now, the status of their upcoming Toronto performance remains unclear.
