Popular Nigerian gospel musician Dele Agbeyo, known by his stage name Dele Gold, has died after a brief illness. The singer, celebrated for his unique “Miliki Gospel” style, passed away on Wednesday, leaving the gospel music community in shock.
Dele Gold, a native of Usi in Ekiti State, grew up in Faforiji, Osun State. His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans on social media. Fellow gospel artist Titi Oguntoyinbo expressed her heartbreak, writing, “Lord, this is a rude shock to me.” Akinlabi Major added, “Let someone tell me this is not true. RIP Dele Gold.”
Alayo Melody Singer also shared his grief on Instagram, saying, “Dele Gold Kee??? This is too much! May God help us stop untimely deaths. Dele, may your soul rest in peace.” Wonder Doyin Kujore reflected on the fleeting nature of life, posting, “Nothing is in this world. Let us live today and leave tomorrow for God.”
Dele Gold was known for his collaboration with Juju music legend Ebenezer Obey on an album in 2019. His death follows the recent passing of another gospel artist, Aduke Ajayi, also known as Aduke Gold, who died after battling cervical cancer.
