Frank Fritz, best known as the co-host of the hit reality TV show American Pickers, passed away on Monday at the age of 58 in Davenport, Iowa. Fritz had been battling various health issues, including Crohn’s disease and the effects of a stroke he suffered in 2022.
Fritz and his longtime friend Mike Wolfe launched American Pickers in 2010, a show that captivated audiences with their search for hidden treasures in America’s garages, barns, and attics. The duo’s dynamic chemistry, with Fritz’s down-to-earth demeanor complementing Wolfe’s energetic personality, made the show a hit on the History Channel, amassing millions of viewers.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, Fritz developed a passion for collecting at a young age, a hobby that eventually led to the creation of American Pickers. Despite stepping away from the show in 2020 due to health complications, Fritz’s love for antiques and his charming personality left a lasting impact on viewers.
Wolfe paid tribute to Fritz on social media, recalling their decades-long friendship and countless adventures. “I’ve known Frank for more than half my life… I love you, buddy, and will miss you so much.”
Fritz is survived by his family and friends. A private service is planned, and the American Pickers community mourns the loss of one of its most beloved figures.
