Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has revealed that he knows who is responsible for his son’s death.
Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. Amid public demands for a thorough investigation, his body was exhumed a week later for an autopsy, the results of which are still pending.
In a circulating audio message, Mr. Aloba vowed to soon disclose the identity of his son’s killer, emphasizing that the perpetrator is someone close to him.
“I know who killed Mohbad. The person is close to us, and I will reveal the truth to the world soon,” he declared in the viral audio.
Mr. Aloba’s resolve to expose the killer coincides with ongoing efforts, including a pending DNA test involving his grandson, Liam Aloba. He clarified that despite prior speculations implicating individuals like Naira Marley and Sam Larry, they were not responsible for Mohbad’s demise.
“After the DNA test, I will disclose who took my son’s life. It wasn’t Naira Marley or Sam Larry, although they may have mistreated him. The truth is that his death came from someone within our close circle, and I will name that person soon,” Mr. Aloba affirmed.
This statement comes in the wake of criticism directed at Mr. Aloba by Mohbad’s sister, Karimot, over his persistent demand for a DNA test. Karimot alleged that Mohbad had repeatedly infected Wumi with sexually transmitted infections. She defended her family’s stance, urging Nigerians to consider the broader context of such demands.
