Nollywood veteran Olu Jacobs is alive, his family confirmed on Sunday, dispelling rampant social media death rumors.
His son, Soji Jacobs, assured the public that his 81-year-old father is alive and shared a video showing the legendary actor, albeit frail, having his grey beard shaved and engaging in light conversation with his barber. This video was meant to discredit the death rumors that had circulated online.
Olu Jacobs’ death has been rumored multiple times since November 2021, when his wife, actress Joke Silva, revealed that he had been battling Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), a degenerative disease affecting the brain. This condition has kept him away from the movie screens.
Joke Silva, during a Channels Television interview in 2021, explained the impact of the disease on Jacobs and their family, expressing gratitude for moments of clarity despite the challenges.
Despite his health struggles, Olu Jacobs has made occasional public appearances, often accompanied by his devoted wife, Joke Silva. Fans continue to hope for his well-being and recovery.
