Emma Stone, the Golden Globe-winning actress, couldn’t resist poking fun at her longtime friend Taylor Swift during a backstage press session at the 2024 Golden Globes. Stone, who clinched the award for best performance by a female actor in a motion picture – musical or comedy for her role in “Poor Things,” took a playful dig at Swift’s animated support.
Jokingly, Stone said, “What an a–hole, am I right?” when asked about Swift’s exuberant reaction to her win. She reiterated, “I’ve known her for almost 20 years, so I was very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, which was wonderful, and, um, yes, what an a–hole!” Stone shared a laugh with the reporters after her light-hearted comment.
Despite the playful banter, it’s evident that Stone and Swift share a genuine and supportive friendship. Swift had attended the “Poor Things” premiere last month, demonstrating their continued support for each other.
In related news, Stone’s film “Poor Things” emerged victorious at the Golden Globes, securing the title of the best motion picture musical or comedy, surpassing the competition, including the billion-dollar blockbuster “Barbie.”
While Stone playfully teased Swift, acknowledging her enthusiastic support, it’s clear that their bond goes beyond jest, with both artists consistently cheering each other on through various career milestones.
