Ethiopia, which follows the unique Orthodox Tewahedo calendar that runs seven years behind the Gregorian calendar, rang in the occasion with a performance by the Afrobeats megastar in Addis Ababa.
Davido, known for his global influence in exporting Afrobeats, performed fan favorites, including hits from his record-breaking Timeless album. His energetic performance marked a high point of the New Year festivities, showcasing his global appeal and continued success.
The Ethiopia show followed his performance at a high-profile event in Saint Tropez, attended by prominent figures such as Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola. While in France, Davido also met a Saudi prince, humorously introducing himself as the “King of Nigeria.”
