Davido, the Grammy-nominated superstar, announced that he will be featured on the remix of the trending single ‘Ogechi’ to honor his wife, Chioma. The remix, set to release on June 25, 2024, the day of his wedding, was shared on his social media platforms.
‘Ogechi’ has gained significant popularity on TikTok, being used in over 300,000 videos, and has reached the top 10 on Apple Music Nigeria and TurnTable Top 100 charts. Davido’s involvement is expected to boost the song further, following his history of successful remixes, such as his work with Kizz Daniel on ‘Twe Twe,’ South African group TxC on ‘Yebo,’ and rapper Frenna on ‘More Pretty Girls.’
Fans anticipate Davido’s verse will continue his trend of delivering hit records influenced by Indigenous Igbo music, similar to his past hits like KCee’s ‘Ogaranya,’ Humble Smith’s ‘Osinachi,’ and Larry Gaga’s ‘Doubting Thomas.’
