Chicago-based rapper Durk Banks, professionally known as Lil Durk, was arrested Thursday night by U.S. Marshals in Florida, facing serious allegations of involvement in a murder-for-hire scheme. The 32-year-old artist was booked into Broward County Jail, reportedly pending federal charges tied to a conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.

The arrest follows an indictment unsealed in Los Angeles, implicating Banks and five members of his rap collective, “Only the Family” (OTF), in a planned attack on rapper Quando Rondo. The Los Angeles indictment lists OTF members Kavon Grant, Deandre Wilson, Keith Jones, David Lindsey, and Asa Houston, who now face charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, use of firearms, and committing violent crime resulting in death. According to investigators, Rondo’s suspected involvement in the 2020 death of rapper King Von may have been the motivation behind the alleged scheme.

Lil Durk’s legal troubles have mounted recently, with a lawsuit filed against him earlier this month regarding the fatal shooting of rapper FBG Duck in 2020. Banks, who won a Grammy in 2024 for Best Melodic Rap Performance with his hit song “All My Life,” has yet to release a statement regarding the arrest. Federal authorities are continuing their investigation, and further details surrounding the charges are anticipated.
