Bobrisky Served Full Sentence in Prison, but Investigation Uncovers Special Treatment

An official investigation has confirmed that popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, served her full six-month prison sentence but received special privileges while incarcerated. The probe was initiated following claims that Bobrisky avoided prison by bribing officials and staying in a private apartment.

The panel, led by the Ministry of Interior, found no evidence supporting the allegation that Bobrisky spent time outside the prison walls during her sentence from April 12 to August 5, 2024. However, the investigation revealed that she received preferential treatment in custody.

Bobrisky, sentenced for abusing the naira, was moved between several facilities, including Kuje and Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centers, though her transfer to maximum security violated Nigerian Correctional Service regulations for first-time offenders.

During her time in prison, Bobrisky was granted access to furnished single cells, a fridge, television, and a humidifier. She was also allowed frequent visits from friends and family, self-feeding, and had designated inmates to assist her with errands.

The investigative panel called for further examination into whether these privileges were the result of corruption among prison officials and emphasized the need for clear rules to prevent unequal treatment of inmates based on their social or economic status.
