Cindy Morgan, acclaimed for her iconic roles as Lacey Underall in “Caddyshack” and Lora/Yori in Disney’s original “Tron” film, has died at the age of 69. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in Florida confirmed her passing, citing natural causes. However, the exact date of her demise remains unspecified.
Morgan rose to fame with her portrayal of the blonde bombshell Lacey in the 1980 sports comedy “Caddyshack,” sharing the screen with comedy legends Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield. Reflecting on her debut film, Morgan stated in a 2012 interview, “‘Caddyshack’ was my first film, and I’ll say that the end product was so completely different. It was originally about the caddies. So at first, I had nothing to lose to audition. It was fun. All I did was focus on making the person sweat. Look ’em in the eye, do that thing many women know how to do.”
Beyond her iconic roles, Morgan starred in the 1982 sci-fi film “Tron” as computer programmer Lora Baines and her alter-ego in the computer-generated world, Yori. Her connection to “Tron” continued as she voiced Ma3a in the 2003 video game “Tron 2.0.”
Throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, Morgan graced numerous television series, leaving her mark on shows like “The Love Boat,” “CHiPs,” “Matlock,” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” Her versatility extended to TV movies such as “The Midnight Hour” (1985), “Solomon’s Universe” (1985), and “Amanda & the Alien” (1995).
Morgan’s film credits include “Up Yours” (1979), “Galaxis” (1995), and “Open Mic’rs” (2006). Her last role was voicing Mason’s Mother in the 2022 indie film “Face of the Trinity.”
In a career spanning television and film, Cindy Morgan left an indelible mark on audiences, and her legacy as a talented and beloved actress will endure.
