Nollywood actress Jumoke George has strongly advised Nigerian women to think twice before undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries, following the tragic death of a 36-year-old woman in Lagos during a botched procedure.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, Jumoke expressed her concern over the growing popularity of cosmetic surgeries, particularly BBLs, which she believes pose unnecessary risks to women’s lives. She questioned the underlying dissatisfaction that drives women to alter their bodies in such drastic ways, asking if they are implying that God made a mistake in creating them.
“Women, what is the color of our problem? The scripture says every creature was made in the image of God the Most High. Are you telling God that He doesn’t know what He’s doing? God is perfect. What more are we searching for?” Jumoke wrote.
Her comments follow the recent arrest of Dr. Idara Bassey by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the death of Abiola, who lost her life during a BBL surgery. The incident has sparked a wave of outrage, with many calling for stricter regulations and oversight in the cosmetic surgery industry to prevent further loss of life.
Jumoke further emphasized that while God grants long life, many are cutting their lives short by choosing to undergo dangerous procedures. She urged women to value their natural beauty and consider the serious risks involved before making such life-altering decisions.
