Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) will temporarily close all branches and pause some digital services as part of a system upgrade to its new Finacle Core Banking Application.
Starting Friday, October 11, 2024, all GTBank branches nationwide will close early at 12:00 p.m. and remain closed through the weekend, reopening on Monday, October 14, at 9:00 a.m.
Customers should also expect disruptions to digital banking platforms, including online and mobile banking, from 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, until 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14. Limited services such as transfers, bill payments, and airtime purchases will still be available during this time.
GTBank assured customers that this upgrade will improve the security and efficiency of its services, leading to a more seamless banking experience. The bank apologized for any inconvenience and asked for customers’ patience as it works to deliver enhanced services.
This system upgrade is part of a broader industry trend, as other Nigerian banks are also modernizing their core banking systems to improve service delivery.
