Abdulrahman Lekki, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, has died following a brief illness. Lagos State officials confirmed his passing on October 30, 2024, with tributes highlighting his impactful work and dedication to educational advancement for Lagos youth.
The announcement was made by the Lagos State Head of Service, who expressed sorrow over Lekki’s unexpected passing and offered condolences to his family and friends. “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we mourn the sudden demise of Mr. Abdulrahman Lekki,” read the statement.
Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, also paid tribute to Lekki, describing him as “a guiding light” and a colleague who showed compassion, humility, and kindness to all. “His unwavering commitment to empowering young minds will be profoundly missed,” Wahab wrote on social media, underscoring the lasting legacy Lekki leaves in the lives he touched.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family. Lekki’s passing is mourned across the Lagos State government, where he served with dedication to youth education and community development.
