Apple has unveiled a completely redesigned Mac Mini, now featuring the latest M4 and M4 Pro chips in a more compact, energy-efficient design. Measuring just 5 by 5 inches, the new Mac Mini delivers substantial performance gains, with up to 1.8x faster CPU and 2.2x faster GPU speeds over previous models. The M4 Pro model scales this even further, offering enhanced processing and graphics capabilities suitable for demanding professional tasks, along with Thunderbolt 5 support for ultra-fast data transfer.
In a move towards environmental sustainability, this is Apple’s first fully carbon-neutral Mac, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 80% across production, transportation, and usage. Constructed with over 50% recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum and fiber-based packaging, the new Mac Mini is aligned with Apple’s long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality across its entire supply chain.
Beyond its hardware, the new Mac Mini is equipped with Apple Intelligence, a suite of advanced AI tools integrated directly into macOS. Users can leverage real-time text redrafting, enhanced Siri capabilities, and more, all while benefiting from Apple’s rigorous privacy standards. These AI-powered features will debut in December, with additional updates expected in the coming months.
Starting at $599, the new Mac Mini is available for pre-order today. Combining high-end performance, a smaller footprint, and a reduced environmental impact, it is designed for a range of users from students and creatives to small business owners, as well as specialized setups in home theaters and data centers.
