Gospel Actor Abel Martins Exits Christian Film Industry, Citing Betrayal and Jealousy Among Colleagues

Abel Martins

Acclaimed gospel actor Abel Martins has announced his departure from the Christian film industry, citing a painful experience of betrayal and jealousy from within. In a recent interview on “The Journey” with Dele Adeyanju, Martins revealed that he would no longer participate in Christian movie productions, attributing his decision to what he describes as an increasingly toxic atmosphere in the industry.

Martins explained that his frequent collaborations with prominent Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye had spurred envy among some colleagues, culminating in a concerted effort to damage his reputation. “We’re all fighting different battles, and envy is part of it,” Martins shared. “That’s why I have decided not to work on any more Christian productions.”

Despite his negative experiences, Martins expressed appreciation for Bamiloye’s unwavering support and integrity, noting the filmmaker stood by him through difficult times. Ultimately, Martins concluded that he can no longer tolerate the hostile environment and is stepping away from Christian film productions to protect his personal and professional well-being.
