Raphinha doubled the lead in the 54th minute with another spot-kick after a foul on Savinho. Brazil maintained control throughout, and late goals from Andreas Pereira and Luiz Henrique sealed the emphatic victory. Pereira struck with a stunning acrobatic volley in the 72nd minute, and two minutes later, Henrique added a composed finish to cap off the team’s impressive performance.
This win builds on Brazil’s hard-fought 2-1 comeback over Chile last week, lifting them to fourth place in the standings with 16 points, trailing Uruguay only on goal difference. Despite some ongoing challenges, the back-to-back victories bring relief to Brazil’s coach Dorival Jr., who has faced criticism for the team’s recent struggles.
Raphinha reflected on the importance of these wins, saying, “It was crucial for us to get back on track. We controlled both games, and while there’s still room for improvement, we’re moving in the right direction.”
Elsewhere, Argentina remains top of the standings after thrashing Bolivia 6-0, while Colombia’s 4-0 win over Chile puts them in second place. With six teams guaranteed spots in the 2026 World Cup in North America, Brazil is back in the race for qualification.
