Wanda Smith, a renowned Atlanta radio host and comedian, passed away at 58, just a day after celebrating her birthday. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Smith, originally from Miami, became a household name in Atlanta with her role as co-host of Frank and Wanda in the Morning on V-103 (WVEE-FM), where she entertained listeners for over two decades, starting in 1998. Her vibrant personality and quick wit made her a fixture on Atlanta radio, first alongside Frank Ski, and later with Ryan Cameron. She remained a significant voice at V-103 until 2019.

In addition to her radio career, Smith was a trailblazing comedian. She was a writer for the iconic Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comicview, performing regularly at the Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross. Smith also made appearances in films such as Madea Goes to Jail and Madea’s Witness Protection.

Tributes poured in from across the entertainment industry, with fellow comedian Loni Love sharing, “Wanda was a pillar of the Atlanta community and a true entertainer. Rest in peace, Sis.”

Smith is survived by her husband, LaMorris Sellers, and their three children. Her legacy as both a radio legend and comedian will be cherished by those who knew her and her many fans across the city.
