Chelsea’s winning streak was halted as Nottingham Forest earned a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, despite playing the final 12 minutes with 10 men. A thrilling second half saw both teams score, with Chelsea unable to capitalize on their numerical advantage in a high-intensity Premier League encounter.

After a quiet first half, the game burst into life when Nottingham Forest took the lead in the 49th minute. A pinpoint free kick from James Ward-Prowse found Nikola Milenkovic, who headed the ball across goal for Chris Wood to finish calmly past Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea responded swiftly, leveling the match eight minutes later. Cole Palmer’s pass found Noni Madueke, who cut inside and struck a low shot into the bottom corner, scoring his fourth goal of the season.

The game took another turn in the 78th minute when Forest’s James Ward-Prowse was shown a second yellow card for a deliberate handball, reducing the visitors to 10 men. Despite this setback, Forest’s goalkeeper, Matz Sels, put in a heroic performance, making crucial saves to deny Palmer and Christopher Nkunku as Chelsea pressed for a winner.

In a frantic 13 minutes of added time, both sides created opportunities, with Sanchez also pulling off key saves to keep Chelsea from falling behind. Forest’s resilient defense and Sels’ shot-stopping earned them a well-deserved point.

Chelsea remain in the Premier League’s top four, while Forest’s strong start to the season continues, temporarily lifting them to ninth place.
