Ex-Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries Accused of Sexual Exploitation at Global Events

Mike Jeffries

Mike Jeffries, former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, is facing new allegations of sexual exploitation following a BBC investigation. Multiple men have come forward, claiming Jeffries and his partner, Matthew Smith, lured them into sex events under false pretenses, promising career opportunities and rewards.

The alleged incidents, which took place from 2009 to 2015 in cities such as New York, London, and Madrid, include claims of coercion, drugging, and sexual assault. Some men reported being injected with liquid Viagra before being forced into sexual acts. One model said he was offered an Abercrombie & Fitch ad role in exchange for attending these events, only to be assaulted by Jeffries in Madrid.

Jeffries, 80, and Smith, 61, have denied all allegations. However, the FBI is now investigating, and Abercrombie & Fitch has launched an independent review. The fashion retailer maintains that its current leadership had no prior knowledge of these accusations, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance on harassment and abuse.

The revelations follow similar reports last year, casting a harsh spotlight on the former executive and raising concerns about Abercrombie & Fitch’s culture during his leadership.
