Juventus Women’s forward Alisha Lehmann has hailed her summer move to the Italian club as the best decision of her career. Since her arrival from Aston Villa, Lehmann has already made a strong impact, scoring on her Serie A debut in a 6-3 victory over Sassuolo.
Lehmann, who has amassed over 17 million followers on Instagram, is known for her prominence on social media, but she insists her life off the field is far from glamorous. “I don’t live like a star. I go home, I cook, and I live a normal life like everyone else,” Lehmann said in an interview.
Reflecting on her time in Italy so far, the Swiss forward said, “I’m very happy to be here. The team has been great, and we help each other on the pitch. Joining Juventus has been the best decision, and my goal is to win trophies with this club.”
In addition to her on-field ambitions, Lehmann wants to use her platform to promote women’s football in Italy. “I’ve used social media to raise awareness for English football, and now I want to do the same for women’s football here in Italy. Juventus’ communication strategy is excellent, and I hope it encourages more people to follow our game,” she added.
Lehmann’s partner, Douglas Luiz, also moved to Juventus in the summer, joining the men’s team in a high-profile transfer. While they both play for the Turin-based clubs, Lehmann says they try to keep football talk to a minimum at home.
“We discuss games after they happen, but we prefer to focus on other things outside of football. It helps keep a balance,” she said.
Lehmann has signed a contract with Juventus until 2027 and is looking forward to further developing her game. “Football is my life, but I’m always learning from those around me. I hope my presence here will help more people follow women’s football, both in Italy and around the world.”
