Luton Town has bolstered its squad with the signing of former Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a permanent deal, pending international clearance. The 33-year-old ex-Nigerian international joins the Championship side after leaving Spartak Moscow earlier this summer, bringing his extensive experience from top European leagues to the Hatters.
Moses began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Wigan Athletic, where he made a name for himself in the Premier League. In 2012, he joined Chelsea for £9 million and was part of the squad that won the Europa League in the 2012/13 season. Under manager Antonio Conte, Moses thrived in a wing-back role, helping Chelsea clinch the Premier League title in 2017. He also had notable loan stints with Liverpool, Inter Milan, West Ham, Stoke City, and Fenerbahce before joining Spartak Moscow permanently in 2021, where he won the Russian Cup.
Speaking about his decision to join Luton Town, Moses expressed his excitement and commitment to the club’s goals. “I had a few offers from Europe, but I wanted to stay in England,” Moses said. “I’m honored to be here, and I can’t wait to get started. I spoke to Rob [Edwards] and the directors, and I’m excited about the club’s vision. I want to help Luton Town get back to where we belong — the Premier League.”
Luton Town manager Rob Edwards welcomed Moses to the team, praising his versatility and tactical knowledge. “Victor has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and his experience will be invaluable for us,” Edwards said. “He’s versatile, capable of playing on both wings or as a number ten, and he understands different styles and systems. We believe he can make a significant impact here.”
Moses joins a Luton Town squad that is eager to push for promotion to the Premier League. With his wealth of experience, having played nearly 550 matches and appearing in major tournaments like the World Cup, Champions League, and Europa League, he adds both quality and depth to the team.
Victor Moses’ addition marks a significant move for Luton Town as they strengthen their squad for the season ahead, aiming for a return to England’s top flight.
