Francisca Owumi, former Big Brother Naija contestant and first runner-up of the show’s inaugural season in 2006, has passed away following a brief illness. Her family confirmed the tragic news on social media, stating, “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”
Owumi was celebrated for her energetic personality and memorable dance moves during her time on BBNaija, where she competed alongside notable housemates like Katung Aduwak, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and Gideon Okeke. Her presence on the show helped set the foundation for what has become one of Nigeria’s most popular reality TV franchises.
Beyond her reality TV fame, Owumi dabbled in the music industry, releasing two singles, “Diva” and “Gbadun You,” under her own label, Cisca Entertainment. She also showcased her talents as a writer for Revista, an international magazine based in Ghana.
Her passing marks a significant loss to the BBNaija community and the Nigerian entertainment industry, where she was admired for her talent, charisma, and contributions.
