Hollywood Actor, Armie Hammer Sells Truck Amid Financial Struggles Post-Scandal

Actor Armie Hammer has revealed that he’s selling his cherished truck due to financial difficulties brought on by rising gas prices and the fallout from his scandalous past. In a candid video posted on Instagram, Hammer shared that he could no longer afford to maintain his 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup, a vehicle he had owned since 2017 and used on numerous cross-country road trips and camping adventures.

“I bought this truck for myself as a Christmas gift back in 2017, and I’ve loved it intensely,” Hammer, 38, said in the video, filmed in a CarMax parking lot where he planned to sell the vehicle. “But since moving back to Los Angeles, I’ve spent four or five hundred dollars on gas, and I just can’t afford it anymore.”

Hammer’s decision to sell the truck comes as he continues to downsize his life in the wake of severe personal and financial setbacks. The actor, known for roles in films like “The Social Network” and “Call Me by Your Name,” has been embroiled in controversy since 2021, when multiple women accused him of sexual abuse and sharing disturbing fantasies involving cannibalism. While Hammer has denied these allegations and was not criminally charged, the scandal has severely impacted his career and finances.

In the Instagram video, Hammer reflected on the memories associated with the truck, including bringing his children, Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, home from the hospital. He acknowledged the emotional difficulty of parting with the vehicle but expressed optimism about the changes in his life. “I’ve got a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’m probably going to put about $10 of gas in it a month,” he said.

Hammer, who recently turned 38, also mentioned that the sale of his truck symbolizes a fresh start as he navigates his new life in Los Angeles. “I will be starting my birthday in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life,” he added.

Despite the challenges, Hammer has maintained a positive outlook, stating in previous interviews that he’s happier now than he’s ever been, despite the drastic changes in his lifestyle. As he continues to rebuild, Hammer appears determined to move forward, embracing his new circumstances with a sense of acceptance and hope for the future.
