Cardi B has filed for divorce from her husband, Offset, for the second time in their seven-year marriage, her representative confirmed. The rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, filed for divorce on Wednesday, seeking primary custody of their two children, 5-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave. Cardi’s representative stated that the decision was amicable and not based on any specific incident, but rather a culmination of ongoing issues.
In a surprising twist, Cardi B took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news of her pregnancy with their third child. Posting photos of her baby bump, she wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!”
This is not the first time Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus. She previously filed in September 2020, citing irreconcilable differences, but the couple reconciled shortly afterward. Despite multiple challenges, including rumors of infidelity and public disputes, they have maintained a strong public presence and co-parented their children.
Cardi and Offset were secretly married in September 2017 and announced their engagement a month later. Their relationship has been marked by highs and lows, but Cardi has often referred to Offset as her best friend, emphasizing the deep connection they share despite their differences.
Recent months had seen the couple spending time together, raising hopes among fans for another reconciliation. They spent New Year’s together, Offset directed Cardi’s “Like What (Freestyle)” music video in March, and they were spotted at a New York Knicks game in April. Offset also showered Cardi with Mother’s Day gifts in May.
As they embark on this new chapter, balancing the end of their marriage and the joy of expecting another child, fans continue to support Cardi B and Offset in their personal and professional lives.
