Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, a prominent social media influencer, has accused Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), of attempting to intimidate protesters in Abuja.
Speaking moments before police tear-gassed protesters at Berger Roundabout on Friday, VeryDarkMan criticized Wike for trying to confine the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. He argued that the protesters had no reason to be at the stadium since they were not athletes like Victor Osimhen or Jay Jay Okocha.
VeryDarkMan called on President Bola Tinubu to address the ongoing nationwide protests, which started on Thursday in Abuja, Lagos, and other parts of the country. The protests are a response to widespread hunger and demands for better governance.
“The government should address us. Tinubu should address us. Wike is trying to bully us, and it is not fair,” he stated.
Additionally, VeryDarkMan urged the protesters to remain peaceful and warned against any form of violence, stating that he would personally ensure that anyone causing trouble would be handed over to the police.
As the hunger strike and protests continue, the demonstrators are steadfast in their call for immediate action and response from the government.
