Real Madrid has officially presented Brazilian teenager Endrick as their latest signing at the Santiago Bernabéu. The 18-year-old forward, who joined from Palmeiras, was visibly emotional during the event, which saw over 40,000 fans in attendance.
Endrick, whose transfer was agreed in December 2022 but could not be finalized until his 18th birthday on July 21, expressed his lifelong dream of playing for Real Madrid. “Since I was a kid, I have always been a Madrid fan, and now I am going to play for Madrid. This is a dream come true,” he said, with his parents also moved to tears.
Club president Florentino Perez welcomed the young talent, praising his dedication and skill. “Your play and goals already bring fans to their feet, and Madrid is delighted to have you as part of the family,” Perez said.
Endrick, inspired by Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo, shared his excitement and the overwhelming emotions he felt during the presentation. “I have loved Real Madrid since I saw Cristiano Ronaldo. I didn’t want to cry, but it came from the soul. I hope we can now create history together,” he added.
Wearing the number 16 jersey, Endrick has already made an impression on the international stage, featuring for Brazil at the Copa América and scoring in friendlies against England and Spain. He looks forward to joining forces with fellow Brazilians Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, and new arrival Kylian Mbappé at Madrid.
Although he won’t join Madrid’s pre-season tour in the U.S., Endrick is eager to start his journey with the club. Madrid’s first competitive fixture of the 2024-25 season is the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14, followed by their LaLiga opener against Mallorca on August 18.
The teenager’s arrival continues Madrid’s tradition of identifying and nurturing young Brazilian talent, following the successful acquisitions of Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo. Endrick’s signing promises to add excitement and potential to Real Madrid’s already formidable squad.
