Violet Affleck, the 18-year-old daughter of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, made a public appearance at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting to speak out against mask bans amid the ongoing COVID-19 cases. Introducing herself as a “Los Angeles resident” and “first-time voter,” Violet highlighted her personal experience with a post-viral condition she contracted in 2019. This experience, she said, underscored the importance of measures to prevent long COVID, a condition affecting millions of Americans with lingering symptoms.
Violet emphasized the need for mask availability, air filtration, and far-UVC light in government facilities, as well as mask mandates in county medical facilities. She called for expanded access to high-quality testing and treatment and urged officials to oppose mask bans, which she argued make vulnerable community members less safe.
Her heartfelt appeal received a standard acknowledgment from the board, with a member thanking her for her participation.
