Honorable Olaide Akinremi, also known as Jagaban, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away at age 51. The House of Representatives confirmed his death, stating that Akinremi died after a brief illness on Wednesday morning.
Akinremi served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions. He was recognized for his dedication to public service and his commitment to his constituency’s development. Known for his deep understanding of his constituents’ needs, he was affectionately called “Jagaban.”
Throughout his tenure, Akinremi was a strong advocate for social welfare, economic growth, and scientific research. He was active in legislative debates and committee activities, demonstrating his hard work and dedication. A grassroots politician and statesman, Akinremi built strong relationships and mentored many first-time parliamentarians.
