The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Konga and the current CEO of D.light. Imudia reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday night, June 25, 2024, after jumping from the balcony of his apartment in Lekki, Lagos.
The Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, confirmed that detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) are conducting a forensic analysis at the scene. Before his death, Imudia called his US-based brother to give instructions on distributing his wealth and spoke to his young daughter, assuring her he would always be there for her.
Imudia’s friends, family, and associates are in shock, as no clear reason for his suicide has been identified. Originally from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nick was previously married to the mother of his daughter, but the marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences. He later married a Caucasian woman.
Imudia’s career included roles as Regional Director for TCL/Alcatel and General Manager/Managing Director for West and Central Africa at Microsoft Device and Services before his tenure at Konga and D.light.
