Chelsea are negotiating with Atlético Madrid to sign 20-year-old striker Samu Omorodion, who is valued at over £30 million. Omorodion, currently on loan at Alavés, scored nine goals in 35 appearances last season.
Chelsea are considering Omorodion as an alternative to Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán. Although Chelsea have been given permission to talk to Durán, who is valued at £40 million, concerns over his wage demands and attitude have made them hesitant to finalize a deal.
In addition to Omorodion, Chelsea are also interested in Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and have other unnamed targets. However, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke is considered too expensive, and their top target, Benjamin Sesko, is staying at RB Leipzig.
New head coach Enzo Maresca is keen to avoid relying solely on Nicolas Jackson as the team’s main striker. Jackson had a successful debut season but Maresca wants to ease the pressure on him.
Chelsea also need to decide on the future of David Datro Fofana, who has returned from a productive loan spell at Burnley. They are looking to sell Armando Broja, who is wanted by Everton.
In other transfer news, West Ham are in talks with Wolves over a potential move for defender Max Kilman, with Wolves looking to keep their captain but a bid of £45 million might be enough to secure his transfer.
