Actor Johnny Wactor, known for his role on the TV soap “General Hospital,” was tragically shot dead in Los Angeles during an attempted car theft.
Wactor, 37, was killed early on Saturday while trying to stop three masked men from stealing a part from his car. Believing his car was being towed, he intervened, and one of the thieves shot him. The incident occurred around 3:25 am at the corner of West Pico Boulevard and South Hope Street.
Paramedics arrived quickly and took Wactor to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead. The suspects fled the scene and remain unidentified.
Wactor’s agent, David Shaul, praised him as an “outstanding human being,” while his mother, Scarlett, described the killing as “senseless.” She said he had been returning to his car after work when he was shot.
Wactor’s death has left a void among his colleagues and fans. Producers at “General Hospital” remembered him as “truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day.”
In addition to his role on “General Hospital,” Wactor had appeared in the 2013 NBC series “Siberia” and HBO’s “Westworld.”
