Pep Guardiola emphasized that Manchester City must win all of their remaining four matches to clinch the 2023/24 Premier League title.
Following a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Man City closed the gap to one point behind leaders Arsenal, holding a game in hand over their rivals.
Guardiola expressed belief that Arsenal will win against AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Everton. As a result, Man City must secure all 12 available points in their remaining fixtures to achieve a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.
“We’ve extended one more week that it’s in our hands. It’s all we can do,” Guardiola said.
“It’s similar to what’s happened in the past with [title races] with Liverpool. If we draw a game, we’re not going to win the Premier League.
“I would have preferred Arsenal to lose [at Spurs on Sunday] but we cannot control what they do. I think they’re not going to lose any points. We know exactly what we need to do.”
