Nigeria has clinched the second spot at the 13th African Games, winning a total of 120 medals across 25 different sports.
The Nigerian team excelled in weightlifting, claiming the highest number of medals with a total of 32, including 16 gold, 10 silver, and six bronze. Athletics followed closely behind as Nigeria’s second most successful sport at the Games, with 22 medals earned.
Nigeria also performed impressively in wrestling, securing 12 medals, while boxing contributed eight gold medals to the country’s tally. Moreover, Nigeria attained success in arm wrestling, bringing home a total of 13 medals.
Egypt finished first with 189 medals, comprising 101 gold, 46 silver and 42 bronze. South Africa took the third spot on the medals table with 106 medals; 32 gold, 32 silver and 42 bronze medals.
