Porsha Williams, a star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has initiated divorce proceedings against Simon Guobadia after 15 months of marriage.
Williams filed for divorce on Thursday in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, citing irreconcilable differences. She also requested enforcement of their prenuptial agreement and asked for Guobadia to cover her legal expenses.
The couple’s relationship had garnered attention since going public in May 2021, shortly after Guobadia’s divorce from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Falynn Pina. Williams defended their fast-moving romance, asserting her happiness and dismissing rumors.
Their split comes amidst rumors about Guobadia’s immigration status, with reports suggesting he faces deportation due to visa issues. Representatives for Williams declined to comment on the matter.
Williams, who rejoined “Real Housewives of Atlanta” after a hiatus, had announced her engagement to Guobadia in 2021. The divorce proceedings are expected to provide a storyline for the upcoming season of the reality series.
