Two individuals, a 45-year-old man named Okoro and a 42-year-old woman named Patience, have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for their alleged involvement in ‘one-chance’ robbery incidents in the state.
The arrests took place around 6:00 am on Saturday, February 17, following reports of their activities. The suspects reportedly operate by disguising themselves as commercial bus drivers, luring unsuspecting passengers into their vehicle, and then robbing them of their belongings.
Their arrest was facilitated by information provided by the public, leading to the identification of one of the suspects by a victim who had previously lost N37,000 to them two weeks ago.
A source told Punch;
“Some suspected thieves are always parking around the Olososun Ojota area in the pretense of taking passengers to their destination but instead take them to an unknown destination and steal from them.
“The incident happened around 6 am, and one Patient, aged 42, and one Okoro, aged 45, were arrested based on the credible information received from the public. One of the victims was able to recognise them, and she said they stole about 37,000 from them.”
Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed their arrest saying “the incident has been reported. The suspect will be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.”
