Journalist Juliana Olajide tragically lost her 17-year-old daughter and grandson in a house fire in Jos, Plateau State. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but it is suspected to be due to an electrical surge. Juliana and her husband sustained burns while attempting to rescue their children from the flames.
The fire engulfed their apartment in thick smoke around midnight, making it difficult for them to reach their children’s room. With the help of neighbors, they managed to rescue their twins, Rhema and Isreal, who are now receiving treatment in the hospital.
Sadly, Juliana’s daughter and grandson did not survive, and her husband is still battling for his life in the hospital. The family has lost everything in the fire, including their home and belongings.
The Plateau State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists is appealing for assistance from individuals, governments, and organizations to support the family during this difficult time. They need help both emotionally and financially to recover from this tragic incident.
