In anticipation of the highly awaited kickoff of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the continent’s premier football event set to unfold in Ivory Coast, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed the definitive squad lists for the 24 qualified teams this Saturday.
The tournament’s inaugural match is slated to unfold in Abidjan on January 13, 2023.
In line with recently implemented regulations, each Participating Member Association (PMA) has the prerogative to submit a final squad, consisting of a maximum of 27 players. However, only 23 players from this roster can be chosen for each match throughout the tournament.
A noteworthy stipulation indicates that a player included in the final squad can only be replaced in the event of a severe injury, and this replacement must be executed no later than 24 hours before the team’s first match.
Nigeria finds itself in Group A, accompanied by Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau.
