Twitch star Kai Cenat experienced a harrowing swatting incident live on stream during his Mafiathon 2 subathon on November 3, 2024. Cenat, 22, noticed a helicopter circling his residence and reacted on stream, exclaiming, “Production, can y’all show the helicopter in the sky? Y’all got a helicopter surrounding my house, bro!” Moments later, his Twitch account was briefly suspended for around six minutes, marking his sixth ban on the platform.
Once the situation calmed, Cenat expressed frustration, explaining that someone had falsely reported a serious crime at his address, leading to an emergency response by local authorities. Addressing his viewers, Cenat voiced concerns about the safety risks he faces as a high-profile streamer, particularly during major events like his subathon. He later took to X (formerly Twitter), sharing a photo of police outside his home and thanking fans after surpassing 140,000 subscribers amid the incident.
This isn’t the first time Cenat has encountered swatting; in November 2022, he was swatted early in the morning while streaming, leaving him visibly shaken. Swatting, a dangerous prank involving false emergency reports to dispatch law enforcement to someone’s address, has become a significant hazard for high-profile streamers.
In a positive development, Cenat recently announced that he would be donating 20% of his Mafiathon 2 earnings to fund school construction in Nigeria, drawing praise from fans and the online community.
