Italy Mora, Panama’s representative for Miss Universe 2024, has officially withdrawn from the competition following a disciplinary evaluation by the Miss Universe organization. The decision was announced after a full review by the disciplinary commission, which concluded that withdrawal was the most suitable course of action under the current circumstances.
The organization emphasized its commitment to confidentiality and respect throughout the process, stating that “protecting sensitive and personal information ensures fairness and dignity for all parties involved.” They also urged the public to avoid speculation regarding Mora’s departure to prevent any potential harm to those involved.
Miss Universe Panama director, Cesar Anel Rodriguez, commented on the decision, calling it a challenging moment but noting that Mora will retain her title as Miss Panama. He clarified that there were no conflicts with other contestants and described the incident as isolated.
The Miss Universe 2024 competition, currently taking place in Mexico, will continue, with the coronation night set for November 16. The Philippines is represented by Chelsea Manalo, who was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 in May.
