Wolves remain without a Premier League win this season as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at Molineux. Despite a second-half comeback, Gary O’Neil’s side sits at the bottom of the table with just three points from ten matches.
After a quiet first half, Crystal Palace took the lead in the 60th minute through Trevoh Chalobah, who capitalized on poor defending from Wolves to drive the ball into the net. Wolves responded quickly, however, with Jorgen Strand Larsen slipping a shot past Dean Henderson to equalize just seven minutes later. Joao Gomes then put Wolves ahead, finishing a low cross from Goncalo Gomes in the 72nd minute.
But Wolves’ hopes for a first win were dashed when Palace’s Marc Guehi tapped in from a flicked header following a corner to level the game in the 77th minute. In stoppage time, Jean-Philippe Mateta thought he had clinched a late win for Palace, but his goal was ruled out due to a foul on Wolves’ goalkeeper, José Sá.
This draw means Wolves have now gone ten games without a win, marking one of their worst starts in Premier League history. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are 17th with seven points, barely above the relegation zone. The result leaves O’Neil under mounting pressure, with a critical match against Southampton next.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised his team’s resilience despite their fatigue. “The squad is tight at the moment, but I’m proud of how we performed today,” he said.
